Paul Pruden Dies After Illness in Wilson
Paul Pruden 55 died at a Wilson hospital Tuesday evening after a two year illness. A Northampton County native, he was married to the late Essie Woodruff and survived by two daughters, four sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services are today at 4 o clock from W. C. Williams Funeral Parlor with Rev. Gordon L. Price officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Focal Woman's Father Dies After Ill Health
Jule Robert Powell of Woodland, father of Mrs. Howard Wood of Roanoke Rapids, died at his home last Tuesday night. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Woodland Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Joseph B. Folds and Rev. T. M. Cooper. Powell had suffered illness for several months.

Air Patrol Holds Regular Drill At Armory
Civil Air Patrol held its weekly drill at the Armory last Tuesday night. Maj J D Winstead and Lieut Settle of Rocky Mount attended as visitors. Howard Pruden, adjutant, invites all over 15 to join and learn about benefits and activities. Officers include Commander A C Culbe and Lieuts Wilson Shell and Pappendick. The patrol meets every Tuesday at 8 PM.

City Men Enter Fighting Forces Inducted July 23

Soldier John Glover Returns on 30 Day Furlough

City May Get Funds for Roanoke Avenue Improvements
