The Rivers Welfare Board will meet in the town hall on Wednesday October 14 at 8 pm. Reports and the financial statement will be presented. Officers will be elected. Organizations may send representatives and all interested individuals are welcome.
Neighborhood friends gathered Friday evening at Miss Blanche Paddock home to honor the newly married Mrs Grace Madden Seaborn with a miscellaneous shower. About fifty attended as the Bride entered to the Wedding March performed by Mrs D Bate. Archie McKelar and Frances Paddock presented a decorated gift basket. The evening featured social games, refreshments, and dancing.
The Roseville Ladies Aid hosts a concert and social at Harrow School on Wednesday October 11. Harvest Thanksgiving services were held at Wheatland Church last Sunday with a large turnout and a duet by Misses Connie and Mabel Card. Next Sunday services are scheduled for Roseville at 11 a.m Ancrum at 3 p.m Rivers at 3 30 p.m. You are welcome.
James R W Shanks and family express sincere thanks to friends for kindness and sympathy shown after their great bereavement and for the floral tributes received.
A Thursday afternoon gathering at Mrs. Oscar Westwood’s home honored Miss Una Addy before her departure from the district. Guests enjoyed music by Mrs. H. Wareham and the Card Sisters, with refreshments and a parting suitcase gift.
Regular Rivers Town Council meeting on September 27 was presided by Mayor Dunsmore. Resolutions include adopting last minutes paying overdue business taxes by October 10 and constructing a half mile road with relief labor. a light at McKenzies Store corner referred to Electric Light Committee. Council adjourned.
