Rivers Town Council Minutes Open with 1924 Curling Fees Set

The Rivers Town Council meeting approves Curling Ice fees at 6 dollars per member for 1924 25 with payments to the town via the Curling Club and rink committee oversight. Other actions include a 1 dollar single skating fee and 4 dollar family ticket, Lot 37 Block 5 sale to J Brown for 2800, a bylaw final readings, travel to an Equalized Assessment meeting in Brandon, Soldiers Tax relief request, and appointing Mrs BE Forman to the Children's Welfare Committee. A Brandon Experimental Farm report is offered for free distribution with soil management and forage crop data.

Annual Bazaar at St James West Australia

St James WA holds Xmas Bazaar on December 6 at 3 pm in the Oddfellows Hall. There will be fancy work and cooking stalls plus a Candy Stall run by the Junior Branch. Goods priced to not exceed one dollar to suit hard times. Children invited to visit Fishpond. tea offered for twenty cents.

To ensure delivery to Old County by Christmas, mail and parcels should be dispatched in the next two weeks. Those sending Christmas cards are advised to place orders at once for a Gazette office assortment.

The Rivers Curling Club invites all locals and visitors to a wide open bonspiel with two events open to men women and children. Rocks provided ice ready soon entry 50 cents. Dance and Waltzing Contest at Oddfellows Hall

The Community Club announces a dance at Oddfellows Hall on Tuesday December 2 featuring the third annual Waltzing Competition. Music by the Society Five Orchestra, refreshments provided, and the event billed as a special evening for lovers of the terpsichorean art.
