James' W.A. Xmas Bazaar at Oddfellows Hall

The St James’ W.A. will hold its Xmas Bazaar on December 6 at 3 pm in the Oddfellows Hall Hal. The sale features Fancy Work Cookery and a Candy Stall run by the Junior Branch. A selection of goods priced at not more than a dollar is offered to suit hard times. Children are invited to the Fishpond and social tea for twenty cents is available to all visitors.

Daly elections set for reeve and ward contest

Reeve W. Chisholm will be opposed by J. R. Shanks in the Daly reeve race. In Ward 3 Councillor Goring faces A. Brown. District residents head to Riding Mountain for big game. Knox Church marked a successful anniversary and hosted supper and concert. Arthur Bishop appointed town constable at 50 dollars monthly.

Wide Open Bonspiel Opens Rivers Curling Season

The Rivers Curling Club launches its winter season with a wide open bonspiel. Rocks provided and ice ready soon. Two events open to all ages and genders with a 50 cent entry. Names to committee members Jas A McKenzie Jos E Thompson R D Britton Fred Oakley A Wareham. Two draws nightly at 7 and 9.

The election of officers for St Matthew s W A was held at Mrs H Neal s home on Thursday November 27. Most officers were re-elected with President Mrs Wim Baily Vice President Mrs Harvey Lee Treasurer Mrs Dobson Dorcas Secretary Mrs H Neal and Mrs Sharman serving in various roles.

Remembrance for Rivers Union Church Organist Leader

After Friday practice at Rivers Union Church the choir honored longtime organist and new choir leader A McKenzie with a gift and words of praise. The letter thanked him for faithful service and noted his continued role as choir reader while Miss Edythe Mitchell became organist.

Daly Council Minutes Report Long Service Recognition

The Daly Council held its last session of the year on November 25 with full attendance. Resolutions included suspending part of a contractor’s payment, scheduling equalizing committee duties, and authorizing school district advances. Councillor Goring retired after 21 years. the council presented a handsome case of pipes and a vote of appreciation, with a brief exchange between Goring and the Reeve before adjournment.

Mrs Williams Receives Sendoff Before Embarking Abroad

Mrs Williams and her husband depart for England to reside. St Matthew's W A presents a Club Bag to Mrs Williams in recognition of her services as member and Vice-President. Mills Re-Elected Councillor for Ward 5 at Wheatland

In Daly Rural Municipality Ward 5 Wheatland election held Friday last 44 votes were cast. Steve A. Mills received 28 votes defeating R. H. White who had 16 votes, confirming Mills for a two year term. Poll conducted at the post office with Geo. S. Perrett as deputy returning officer.

Bijou Theatre to Install First Class Radio Set

Has Installed Radio A Wicks manager of the Bijou Theatre plans a radio set to broadcast high class music and other programmes alongside ordinary film attractions. The move aims to keep the venue current with evolving entertainment options.
