The Curling Club convened a well attended meeting on a Tuesday evening to discuss an ongoing court case delaying business. The principal item was reaching an agreement with Bert Taylor, the lessee of the rink, with another session planned soon to finish outstanding matters.
The Rivers Town Council met on Wednesday evening November 4 with Mayor Sinclair presiding. Minutes from the prior meeting were read and approved. Resolutions authorized paying Electric Light $441.72 and Finance Committee expenses $523.60. By-law No 204 received three readings. By-law establishing polling stations 1,2,3 was read thrice and deemed final. By-law 162 amended to require $10 license for motor trucks for hire. Rent for P Luchuck home Lot 19-29 Block 19 reduced to $13 per month starting November 11, 1925. Council adjourned.
The S0th Battalion from Calgary Alberta, about 1100 strong, passed through Rivers on Friday to a warm civic reception. A heavy blizzard on Monday covered the area in deep snow and threshing activities were halted.
