Local Notes From Midweek Town Visit and Moves

First examinations in the current term were noted. Mrs W Vickery of Hameta visited town this week. Donald McFaddes, University of Manitoba scholar, was in town. Mrs George Florence of Winnipeg visited her father W Rutherford of Daly. Mrs S A Mills returned from General Hospital Winnipeg after treatments. Mike Kowalchuk moved his watchmaking shop to the former Moxley building. W M Harrison, tailor, to occupy former premises. CPO W E Parker RCNYR visited relatives Mr and Mrs B F Nana of Wheat Jand en route from Halitan to Vancouver. Sgt Henry Roberts, en route from Kameack Sask to Winnipeg, stopped Monday. On discharge, he plans to return to prewar work at Flin Flon north of City. The Junior Red Cross meeting was arranged by teacher Mise Dawa Rak.

Musical gathering at Mrs Seater's district home

About 25 persons gathered at the home of Mrs George Seater in the district for a pleasant afternoon. A musical contest and decorated treats followed by gifts and refreshments, with Miss Barbara Hunt visiting. Local families and friends visited Mr and Mrs Seater over the weekend and various relatives and guests from Oak River, Neepawa, and Flonisiting attended.
