Daly Council Special Meeting Ends With Bylaw Readings

A Daly Council special meeting was held with all members present. Reeve led readings of Bylaw 757 for Local Option in the Rural Municipality of Daly, with a resolution filed for Clerk and a vote slated for June 16. The meeting date was postponed from June 2 to June 16.

Oddfellows Anniversary Service at St James Church

Oddfellows and Rebekahs celebrated the 109th founding anniversary with Divine Service at St James Church on Sunday evening. A large turnout from Rapid City attended as Bro C W Angel led a parade from the hall to the church. Rev Nash preached on charity and love with choir anthem Abide With Me. Refreshments were served by the Rebekahs, and thanks were extended to Rev Nash and the St James choir.

Towns or Rivers ByLaw 232 Closing Notice

Notice announces the passing of Early Closing ByLaw No. 232 requiring stores to close at 12 noon on Thursdays during May through September and stay closed until the next business day. The public is urged to govern themselves accordingly.

Local beer sale approved by Rapid City vote

Last Friday Rapid City voters approved local beer sales by 130 for and 53 against. Provincial election results showed 115 yes 168 no on extensions of facilities. 146 for glass 174 for bottle. 164 yes 105 no to abolish brewers rights. Memorial committee meets at Mrs Stewart home proposing memorial entry to municipal hall with steps and a tablet listing local war dead.
