Town Notice Demands Yard Cleanup by May 15

All yards and premises must be cleaned and manure and garbage removed by Thursday May 15. The date is set by the Council. Manure must be transported to nuisance ground and not burned.

Tender Accepted for Man and Team Road Work

A special town council meeting on Tuesday evening April 2gth received tenders for road work. The bid by Jas. Taylor at six dollars per day was accepted, with council adjournment following.

W.A. Juniors Stage Notable Program at Bijou Theatre

The Junior W.A. of St. James' Church presented a well trained program at the Bijou Theatre on Thursday evening and repeated Friday afternoon. A Bible motherhood pageant starred Elsie Barker with others including Olga Tomiak and Sadie Archambault in missionary numbers. C. W. Angel chaired in Rev Nash's absence as the event drew praise for its earnest performances.

Rats Spread in Western Manitoba Prompt Clean-Up Drive

Ten years ago rats began appearing in Western Manitoba and are now increasingly common in the district. J. H. Huston, a veterinary surgeon, will set up practice in Rivers. The Oddfellows and Rebekahs lodges will attend church at Knox Church next Sunday afternoon. Mayor Jonason urged all citizens to join Clean-Up Week to keep the town clean and beautiful.

New Hall Ready For Use In Town

The Oddfellows New Hall nears completion and opens Friday evening with J C Stone credited for alterations. A wide dancing floor a full width stage improved front and enlarged facade greet guests while a west side entrance allows access to both floors without leaving the building. The hall already hosts events and remains ready for rent for various uses with ground floor convenience. The North American Lumber Co supplied materials and route card printing services are offered to horsemen.
