Residents prepare for the grand after party following the ball to be held at Oddfellows Hall on Tuesday. Local organizers urge guests to arrive ready for festive proceedings and community gathering.
The Community Club held its first annual banquet at the Shore Hotel on Monday evening with forty places set and all members present. Bert Moore presided as toastmaster as toasts honored "Our Club" "Our Town" and "Athletica" with speakers including Mira A. Jones and D. A. Moore, and Rev. Nash addressing "The Neighbor." The event ran two hours, ended with Auld Lang Syne, and featured speeches by J. Couch and Principal Durnin on education and sports.
All dog licenses for 1925 must be paid by April 3 or prosecutions will follow. G. H. Gabe, Secretary Treasurer.
The Bijou shows Douglas Fairbanks in his latest picture One of the Blood this Friday and Saturday. A popular dance is slated for Wednesday April 1st. The note invites patrons to enjoy a light hearted all fools day celebration.
The only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Wolstenholme married William Edwin Switzer on March 21 at their home. The ceremony featured J. Chetgrin’s Wedding March, Rev. S. A. Martin officiating, with a grandmother as matron of honor. Guests from Winnipeg, Toronto, and nearby towns attended a luncheon and generous gifts followed, the couple leaving for Winnipeg amid rice and congratulations.
A local curling match on Ice City featured G Martin J D Robertson J Worden and Dr Corbett as skip achieving a full eight rocks while the opposing rock stayed on the ice. Hamiota Agricultural Society Get Together Meeting and banquet March 23 1925 with speakers in the afternoon and at 6 30 p m.
King Winter receives a last playful nudge as the Community Club hosts a dance under the I O C F banner on Tuesday March 31. The event invites attendees to celebrate the coming of spring with posters outlining further details.
Ten years ago from the Ganette this week Robt Wilkinson sold his blacksmithing business to R W Maw. The Daly Council panned a res solution proposing compulsory fish slides at dams on the Little Saskatchewan River. The Masonic District Meeting at Rivers drew prominent province Masons.
