Ad copy touts a wide range of jams and syrups then shifts to a large shoe sale. Mentions good rubber springs and men’s shoes offered at discount with oversized sizing and a bold claim of the biggest snap in shoes ever offered in Rivers.
On Friday the 24th the final Whist Drive of the season will be held at the Sons of England Hall. A large number have attended the pleasant evenings and social time will be spent. The prize will be awarded to the person with the highest aggregation score for the winter.
The Lothair Literary Society held a Tuesday evening meeting with L. Bart as chairman. The program featured readings, recitations, musical selections by the Lothair Girls, margaret Shanks, Nellie Baily, and Mrs Howey, plus variegated performances including a Negro Minstrel Show, harp and violin pieces, and a final benediction.
A historical note on the mixed public view of prohibition citing editorials from the New York World and Sunday Times. It summarizes claimed benefits from prohibition including reduced liquor use, improved labor and savings, longer life expectancy, declining infant mortality, fewer prisons and poorhouses, and little public desire to repeal.

Mr and Mrs N W Robins thank friends for support during long illness and for sympathy after their loss. They also recognize floral tributes including those from the Carnegie Curling Club.
The Union W N S will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday March 23 at 3 pm in the Union Church Parlors. The church choir prepares an Easter Cantata about the crucifixion death and resurrection and an Institute for Sunday School workers on March 26 and 27 with Rev John W Little and Mrs Hamilton attending.
Manitoba Agricultural Extension News lists 1922 summer fair dates for Rivers and nearby communities. Rivers is set for July 14 with Oak River Bate and Rabie Y Cit dates following in mid July.
A town notices an event on March 17 at 6 30 promising Patcake and stew done brown. Residents are urged to come early to secure the best seat for a good meal.
The Missionary Committee oversaw a meeting led by convener Miss Cora Johnston with 16 attendees. Miss Weir spoke on Japan, Mrs J Grummett on China, and Mr Hail on India. Miss Ivy Miners presented a missionary letter on the value of prayer before the lights went out and the group adjourned.
