T W Offen spent a few days in Neepawa while George Walker enjoys holidays in Winnipeg. Anglican church Sunday school picnic is set for next Thursday afternoon June 28. Sgt Major Douglas Morrow and Mrs Morrow of Winnipeg visit their town parents. Mrs Ford M Richardson of Kenora Ont visited relatives here. Mrs R Higginson recuperating after operation at Brandon General Hospital. Mrs Norman Wareham of Winnipeg General Hospital arrived Sunday for holidays at home. Mrs Mary Mitchell of Marsden Sask visits her brother W Rutherford and relatives. Chester McFadden leaves Tuesday for Prince Albert Sask to see his mother Mrs James McFadden. Mrs C Tufts hosted a surprise birthday party for Mrs Clarence Wagar with a dainty lunch and small remembrance for the guest of honor.

Memorial Service Set For July 1 At Rivers

An annual memorial service will be held at 3 pm Sunday July 1 at Rivers. Guest speaker will be F Lt Gowdy and music provided by No 1 CNS band. Further particulars will be issued next week.

War-Children Enjoy First Banana Here

The Rehabilitation Committee reception department greeted 151 repatriates and war brides after a train meet. They distributed fruit and chocolate bars to 127 former prisoners of war and 24 war brides. Many children savored a banana for the first time during the event.
