Manitoba Brewers and hotel keepers fund scholarships
A collective fund of 25000 dollars is offered to the University of Manitoba by six licensed Manitoba Brewers and all licensed hotel keepers. For 1945-46, 15 entrance scholarships of 150 each and 15 entrance scholarships of 350 each are planned, with 7500 reserved to continue past winners for a second year. Scholarships are open to Manitoba war veterans and their children, require Grade XI or XII standing, and cover various faculties. The Board of Selection includes justice Dysart, John Dryden, H P Armes, C Rhodes Smith, college representatives, and Manitoba Hotel Association and Brewers representatives.
