Mr and Mrs Walter Parker announce the engagement of their second daughter Vera Elaine to LAC Patrick W Burchell eldest son of Mr and Mrs Wm Burchell of Mackayville Montreal. The wedding will take place late in July.

On June 15 the postage for Airgraph Messages to Canada’s forces in the United Kingdom of the Middle East fell from 10c to 6c per message. The Airgraph Service was extended to civilians to facilitate Canada UK correspondence. Civilian to civilian messages to the United Kingdom cost 15c per message.
Council discussed tender acceptance for grade construction north of section 154222 due August 1, 1942. It approved balancing costs on Forrest Rivers Road gravelling, one third municipality two thirds province. Funds approved for Ward 3 and 4 gravelling south of Bradwardine with prior local spending. A CP culvert issue at four road points prompted a request for a 30 inch culvert. By law 977 on indemnity for council members passed after three readings. Finance recommended payment of in order accounts. Next meeting July 7 or when called by Reeve.
