Town Council Minutes May 27 Minutes Adopted and Actions Taken

Regular Rivers Town Council meeting on May 27 approved minutes of the prior session. Appointed C. H. Gabe as 1936 Weeds Inspector and moved Polling Booths to the Council Chambers with bylaw to follow. Impose relief work requirement and doctor’s certificate for sick leave, offer Community Club labor to dig a tennis court well, and adjourn.

Anglican News Rev Whiting to Lead First St James Service

The new incumbent Rev Mr Whiting appointed by the Bishop of Brandon will conduct the Sunday service at St James at 7 30 pm and be ordained next Sunday at 11 am in St Matthews Pro Cathedral. A large attendance is hoped to welcome him. He will conduct services at all points the following Sunday.

Rivers School Trustees Meet May Twenty Seventh

The Rivers School Trustees met at 8 pm in the school with J T Bowman presiding. All trustees attended except C J McFadden. They adopted last minutes, approved accounts of 1732, accepted and published the auditor's report, offered re engagement to current staff at the same salary, authorized the treasurer to advertise for new teachers if needed, offered re engagement to the caretaker at the same salary, and then adjourned.

Memorial services set by Legion and dates in Wasagaming

Our Exchanges report the Army and Navy Veterans' Memorial Service on Sunday June 21 at 3 pm at Memorial Grounds and the district annual service by the Legion on Sunday August 30 with last year’s transfer due to rain. Plans for a Western network radio broadcast from Riding Mountain National Park follow the Wasagaming board of trade meeting where resolutions on campsites golf rates and lighting costs will be presented to government officials.
