A letter from the Community Club urges residents to buy $1 slide tickets to fund maintenance of the Toboggan and future projects. The writer condemns unauthorized use that harms the slide, notes club plans for a tennis court and a possible community hall, and calls for collective backing to keep Rivers a pleasant winter spot.
The Rivers School Board met for its regular monthly session with Chairman R. N. Duprimare presiding. Actions included approving pay rates for sewer work, requesting pupil attendance data, referring a van route dispute to the Transportation Committee, and establishing annual board committees for Transportation Finance Purchasing and School Management.
A Congregational Social at Union Church Parlors honored Miss ER Murdoch. Mr R G Sinclair read the congregation’s address and presented a leather club bag, acknowledging her years leading the choir and wishing her health happiness and prosperity as she moves away.
The Three Act Comedy Nothing But the Truth will be staged at Wagar Hall by St James Amateur Dramatic Society on Wednesday February 27 and Monday March 3. Local cast includes Grant Wilkes J H Barker S Franklin S Simpson Rev S L Nash and others. Admission 50c and 25c with a post show dance for 50c more. Refreshments served. Watch for announcements and bills.
The Gazette states it will no longer provide free publicity and will charge regular rates for advertising from all sources. The editorial note says the paper will contribute in cash to worthy enterprises while continuing to seek news, but publicity requests will be charged.

A brick structure known as the Korman Block on Second Avenue was purchased last week by Forman and Harvey hardware merchants. The new owners plan to move from the Oddfellows' Block and fit first floor rooms as living suites for rental.
