The club plans a Bonspiel beginning Saturday next Feb th with a $1.10 per member prize fund. Near clubs may join though not open to all. Only two ice sheets used. Alf Wareham L Marsh and Miss C Johnstone named prize committee. J E Thompson A W Stephene H M Harvey draw committee. Further details pending.
The Annual Meeting at St James Church in the Sons of England Hall reported strong work by groups and solid finances, with 1925 deficits narrowed from 1924. Key officers reappointed and elected include Warden N Prey, Treasurer Chas Angel, People’s Warden E J Bally, and Vestry members. Special thanks were given to auxiliaries, the Dramatic Club, Sunday School, and the choir. A dessert provided by the Women’s Auxiliary capped the evening.
Excel sior Lodge L.C.B.A. members traveled by three cars to Cardale to establish Victoria Lodge No 700. Thirteen ladies attended the ceremony, enjoyed a supper at Mr and Mrs Lambkin’s home, and officers were installed. Mrs Scarlett, Most Worshipful Grand Mistress, attended. Miss Millie Lambkin becomes the first Worthy Mistress. Gratitude extended to drivers Warehamn Johnstone and Rev Mr Patterson.
A large crowd enjoyed the masquerade at U F M on Friday evening with lively costumes. Prizes went to Mrs Wolfe and Mrs Harris in Ladies, Mr Blackwell and Mr A Baily in Gents, and Mr E Dowland with Mr C Myles in Comic categories. The event drew thanks from the U F M organizers and local judges. The Bradwardine Curling Club announces a local bonspiel starting Monday Feb 15.
