Rivers Hockey Team Loses to Kenton in Fast Match

The Rivers hockey squad traveled to Kenton on Thursday and lost 53 in a fast contest. A large crowd attended despite cold weather. Rivers led 1-1 after the first period with a 4-2 second frame, and each team scored in the third. Proceeds topped $23.00 with $15.00 allotted for expenses.

The Field Crops Branch of the Saskatchewan Department of Agriculture estimates annual losses from noxious weeds at about 400 to 500 dollars per farm across the province.

Daly Church Annual Meeting Reports Strong Outlook

The Daly United Church held its annual meeting at Mr. Brown’s home with Rev. W L T Pattesott presiding. Reports praised year’s work, noted some members moved away, and highlighted solid finances including Stewards 35 dollars, Ladies Aid 320 dollars, Sunday School 32 dollars, and M and E Fund 150 dollars with balances in hand. New officers were named for the Board of Stewards and Ladies Aid, and the Bible Society Branch was re-organized with G Beach as president and E O Dyer as secretary-treasurer.
