Rivers Old-Timers Bid Farewell to Mrs Riddick

Members of the Rivers Old-Timers Association gathered at Oddfellows Hall to bid farewell to Mrs. Riddick and Ruth who are leaving Rivers to join Mr. Riddick at The Pas. The evening featured whist, lunch, a gift of stainless steel knives, and a tribute address followed by a dance and Auld Lang Syne.

Walter Townley War Hero and Curling Member Dies

Mrs Albert Wareham mourns as Walter Townley of Erickson dies in Winnipeg General Hospital. A Great War veteran with the 181st Brandon battalion he was a two year German prisoner of war. Townley, a popular Rivers curling club figure, visited his sister last winter.
