The Rivers Boys and Girls Club reports branch clubs from Robinville and Jo thail schools have joined. Entries listed include Pig Raising six, Galf and Colt Raising nineteen, Chicken Raising thirty four, Grain Growing three, Gardening fifty five, Gookery forty, Garment Making forty two, Canning and Preserving fifteen, Noxtons Weeds twenty four, Dairying thirteen.
Red Cross notes invite subscriptions left at the Gazette Office for the Red Cross Auxiliary under Mrs Offen and thank Mr and Mrs H J Varcoe for a $10 contribution this week. A Thursday evening prayer service is held at the Rest Room under Red Cross auspices.
Mama invites volunteers to Friday afternoon town hall tasks and a packing day scheduled for the first Friday of next month. Tickets are on sale for an enlarged Church of England donation image displayed in J H Thompson’s window, available at Thompson's store or the Gazette Office, with proceeds supporting church efforts.
The Town of Rivers invites applications for the position of Scavenger. Duties start at once, permanent job with good wages. Applications are to be submitted to GEO. W. OLIVER, Secretary Treasurer.
A special Rivers Board of Trade meeting with Brandon reps led to forming a district Board of Trade. A notable wedding at the Presbyterian Church united Florence Crosby of Rivers and Frederick H. Larkins of Transcona. Wheatland News notes arrivals Mrs Lambkin and Mrs Lambkin of Belmont plan to stay. Death of Mrs S B Nunn of Wheatland reported as a well known member.
