Irene May Gabe Marries Robert Haig in Winnipeg Church

Irene May Gabe daughter of Mr and Mrs C H Gabe of Brunswick apartments Winnipeg wed Robert Haig youngest son of Mr and Mrs William E J Baker of Kirkfield Park Lan April 5 at Holy Trinity Church Winnipeg with Rev Terrance Finlay officiating. The couple plan to reside in Winnipeg.

Clark Ratz wedding at First Church United Brandon

In the presence of immediate relatives Ethel Maude Ratz wed William Allister Clark at First Church United Brandon on April 5. The bride wore pink crepe with brown accessories and carried pink roses, attended by her sister Betty. The groom’s groomsman was Roy Ferguson, Rivers. A reception followed at the United Grill before a honeymoon trip to Winnipeg.

Town and Out Notes From Local Household Visits

Mrs L Janz and her young son returned to town from Souris after several weeks away. Visitors included Mrs Cochrane of Brandon and Mrs A McDonald of Oak River with Mrs W Cannon. Brandon guests Mrs J H Cowan and family stayed with Mr and Mrs Wilfred Paddock for a few days. Bert Dunn came back from Winnipeg after completing a six month painting and decorating course. Mrs George Woods of Carberry spent Easter weekend with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Wilfred Paddock. Mrs G R Stinson of Regina visited over Easter with her parents, Mr and Mrs John Stevenson.

Local Guests and Weddings Highlight Kamsack Visit

Denis and Douglas Roberts and relatives from Kamsack visited last week with their uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs R Mitchell. Miss Cecilia Dann of Deloraine returned home after a week with relatives Bert Dunn and family. Mr and Mrs John Robertson, formerly Rivers residents and now Winnipeg locals, moved back to town. Miss Gladys Whyte heads to Kenton for a wedding next month after three years in Rivers with Taylor Son. Mrs T Miners marked her 87th birthday with a gathering of town friends including Mrs H Rea of Portage la Prairie. Whyte bride elect attended a shower in United church annex with 63 ladies, tea hosted by Mrs Walter Harrison and Mrs Alex Whyte. Gifts from Miss Dorothy Taylor and Betty Hanlon.
