Knox Church Holds Annual Meeting and Mortgage Burning
The Knox Church annual meeting reports a flourishing period from 1918 to 1919 with total receipts of 2163 79. The Ladies Aid funded the mortgage payoff leaving the church debt free. A $100 gift to the minister was announced and officers were elected for the coming year. The mortgage was ceremoniously burned as the congregation sang and prayed, followed by a reception in the parlors.
