Amalgamation plan discussed for Oak River and Rapid City

Fortune leads an Oak River meeting on Nov 18 to outline a three partner merger of Blanshard, Rapid City, and an adjacent Saskatchewan area under Bill 33. The plan proposes a 10 member council, dual offices, Local Urban District for Rapid City, and phased tax and debt arrangements with a Dec 1 submission deadline to the province.

Community drives collect 678 pounds for Riverdale Harvest

Rivers Collegiate and Grade 6 students at Rivers and Oak River schools gathered food on Halloween night benefiting Riverdale Harvest. Donations totaled 678 pounds to the food bank.
