Town Council Notes Fire Service and Budget Actions
Six fire department members were approved to attend the Manitoba Services Conference in Brandon October 15 to 17 with a $40 per person registration. A Rescue Van was used for transport. Five Essentials of Fire Fighting books were approved at 34.75 each plus GST for Rivers Fire Department. Pager project progress noted. $6 090 raised and 5 pagers obtained. 19 pagers planned by year end 1993. 7 pagers budgeted for 1994. 12 on call discussed. 24 on call deemed too costly. Ambulance August 1993 expenses 99 943 15. Senior Services August 1993 7 853 35. General and Utility accounts approved and confirmed totaling 44 959 06 and 8 952 48. another General 8 450 72 and Utility 852 88 approved for payment. Meyers Norris Penny appointed for 1993 audit at 5 250 plus GST. Variance Fee for Rivers set at 150 starting Oct 1 1993. Theatre holes and back siding repairs noted.
