Nitrogen rates for dry beans in Manitoba trials
Manitoba trials tested five nitrogen rates 0 35 70 105 and 140 lbs N per acre in Windbreaker Pinto and T9905 Navy beans at Carman and Portage from 2017 to 2019. The ON control yielded 2700 lb per acre, with best economic outcome at 0 N or 35 N per acre, showing biological N fixation and soil N reduced fertilizer need.
