Safety tips for downed power lines in storms
In tornado zones and areas with high winds secure loose items and report downed lines to Manitoba Hydro or police. Treat all lines as energized and avoid contact with lines, water, and metal fences. Keep children indoors and pets leashed. Do not touch or move lines even if wood appears dry. If a line lies on a vehicle, stay back and call for help.
