Master Anglers Shine at Second Annual Derby on Lake Wahtopanah
The Rivers and Area Game and Fish Association hosted 49 anglers at Jake Fast Park on June 20 for the second summer fishing derby. Winners earned $200 prizes for longest fish in four categories: walleye Perry White 73.7 cm, pike Ian Straker 81 cm, perch Trevor Johnston 22.3 cm, rock bass Roger Beaudin 27.5 cm. A 50/50 prize went to Troy White and Perry White’s son. Additional raffles and filleting tables were won by several locals, with a post event supper closing the day.
