Record of 12k Fundraising Auction Yields Big Proceeds
The Rivers Recreation Facilities Review Committee hosted a fundraising auction with 56 live items and 80 silent bids. Net supper proceeds were 3500 donated by Kuipers Bakery with coleslaw from Deerborne Colony. Total raised reached 142245 with several high value items, yet the event faced post auction vandalism and police arrests including 22 year old Thomas Therrien Chiasson and a youth. The late discovery highlighted damage at the skating rink and linked thefts from Happy Days weekend prior.
