Legacy campaign launches with family gift at Ivers recreation
Ivers Recreation Facilities Review Committee started the Leave a Legacy drive with a July 24 fundraising auction. The first donation came from Harry Airey and Donna Morken at 12 500 each to name the Harry Evans room in the five change rooms. Evans, born 1884 near Kirkham's Bridge, moved to Rivers in 1906, starred in Rivers hockey’s first game and later worked 38 years at Canadian National Railway, retiring as foreman before dying in 1958.
