The CFIA released proposed updates to Health of Animals Regulations tightening maximum travel times for nursing ruminants to 12 hours and for broilers, spent hens, rabbits to 24 hours. Other changes set 28 hours for equines and pigs and 72 hours for day-old birds, with offloading rules stressing feed and water to reduce stress and disease risk.
