The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 75 held a brief Jan 9 meeting with one new member to be sworn in. Janice Worth becomes liaison to the ladies auxiliary. Levee Day drew a crowd as vaping discussed amid smoking bans and calls for further research.
January meeting in Rivers Legion upper hall includes 18 members with two new initiates Marilyn Halliday and Gayle Bullee. 2012 executive: Janey Brown president Dorothy Beedie 1st VP Linda Leckie 2nd VP Wendy Wood secretary Eleanor Childerhose treasurer Lisa Smith sergeant-at-arms publicity. News notes include Starburst Foundation donation and early bird draw winner Betty Frazer. Next meeting set for February with lunch by Marlene Allen and Shelly Anderson. Negate vaping at Rivers Legion.
