Weed control service changes in Mid west district
Sid Lewis notes that provincial funding and course updates faded in the 1990s, shifting weed programs to municipal control and Noxious Weed Act. Since then supervisors averaged few recommendations annually. The Mid west Weed District Board directed stopping the service, handing chemical recommendations to MAFRI advisors and local agronomists, hoping farmers remain unaffected.
