River’s Lions Club Pickerel Fry Attracts 26 Seekers

Rivers and Area Lions Club held its annual pickerel fry at Rivers Legion Hall, drawing 26 attendees from the area and beyond. Don Montague and Ian Dyer ran 27 takeout suppers while main cooks Lawrence McFarlane, Murray Kernaghan, Peter Mellings, and Doug Dickenson supervised.

Lee's marks 20th year at Lee's Restaurant

Jessie Bell notes Lee's Restaurant celebrated its 20th anniversary on February 10 with free coffee and doughnuts in the afternoon and an evening smorgasbord of Chinese food. The event drew over 90 guests, with a wait line filling tables as the family business, including daughters Helen and Emily, marks two decades. Helen and Emily are listed with birthplaces and years from Riverdale Hospital and Brandon. Kens expanded the former Ho Ho Restaurant in 1992, adding a banquet room now in use.
