Decision on Rivers station restoration plan and funding
Jessie Bell Donna Morken chaired a Rivers Train Station Restoration Project meeting on January 25 with nine attendees. Via Rail confirmed ownership of the station and sale terms, while negotiations with CNR for surrounding property proceed. Whitehead Foundation grant of over $5,700 funds a mural painted by Cy Longman, with pieces mounted on the 24 station windows and later reassembled as a billboard. CPR contributes $1,000 in legacy dining ware and crockery. The next meeting is April 26 at 7 p.m. in the RM of Daly seat chamber.
