Fire Damaged Wheatland Home On December 17 1953
From our fires 55 years ago December 17 1953 the Wheatland home of John Dyck was damaged by fire on Monday morning Mrs Dyck was lighting a fire in the washroom when her dress caught fire as did the wall between washroom and kitchen St James Anglican Church reopened its hall with a supper and variety program Kitchen extended staircase removed wallboard flooring and oil heating installed Bea Mitchell received a life membership from Rivers United Church Women's Aid on Monday evening.
