Great Duck Race canceled after high water forces draw
The Rivers and Area Game and Fish Association canceled its annual Great Duck Race after high water. A draw at Rivers Home Hardware on Aug 21 awarded Adrienne Beaudin 500 dollars, Jeff Worth 300 dollars, and Jen Davis 200 dollars from 287 pre sold ducks. Proceeds fund a dock at the Lake Wahtopanah boat launch, a fire pit in the dock area, and a turkey capture program next February. Orry Wood received a $500 Rivers and Area Game and Fish Association scholarship at the Rivers Collegiate graduation exercises in June for study in conservation and natural resources.
