Rapid City library expansion honors community effort
The Rapid City library grew from two rooms in the museum to a 38 by 42 foot building in 1983 and, after a two year project, a 30 by 32 foot addition opened on August 22. Volunteers, local councils, and foundations funded the multi use facility serving a nursery school and recreation office. Dedication honors Margaret Northam with 70 volunteers listed and doors prizes awarded.
