Town budget meeting outlines 2012 Rivers plans and costs
Mayor Todd Gill led a budget session in the council chamber with six councillors and CAO Kat Bridgeman. The 2012 budget totals about 2.1 million dollars, with increases for reserves, salaries, services, and a new recreation facility. Residents heard likely tax changes for those with large property assessments, and anticipated water and sewer charge increases. The Riverdale Community Centre project advances toward completion, with further upgrades, noise controls, landscaping, and fencing. New revenue includes three lake-area lots sold on Seventh Avenue east, financed by debentures and lot sales, plus anticipated events at the center this summer.
