Rolling River Festival gets its name from Saulteaux river
Indians named Rolling River from Odetebanaywe Seekee meaning rolling river as water and rocks move in the river bed. A river branch starts at Riding Mountain National Park, runs west to Erickson and through the Rolling River reserve, then under Highway 10 toward Little Saskatchewan and Minnedosa Lake before joining Assiniboine River near Brandon.
