Berger Trustees Create Garrett Scholarship Fund
The Berger Camp Ground Association trustees met at Sandridge Methodist Church and established a $55,000 Garrett Scholarship Fund to aid students studying for the ministry at Garrett Theological Seminary in Evanston. An additional $3,000 is for immediate aid, overseen by Edwin Waterman Milton Waterman and Dr Frank Countryman. Ministerial students from the Chicago Southern District will receive preference in awards.

Man Found Dead In Dolton Garage
Cordell Clark aged 41 was found dead in his Dolton garage on September 12. He had been missing for hours before Clifford J. Meadows located him and alerted police. Clark is survived by his wife and one child.

Dr Batcheler death ruled accidental at inquest
Dr Chester C Batcheler of 14201 School St Riverdale died August 4 from burns after a Volkswagen collided with a truck at 138th and School St. An inquest at the county morgue ruled accidental death with a coroner’s jury.
