New York approves full crew act for railroads
The full crew law of New York State took effect September 1 and will cost roughly 2 million dollars more annually. It requires additional trainmen on freight and some passenger trains, with major impact on the New York Central and Hudson River railroad. On the New York to Albany passenger runs, more than 100 extra workers will be hired.

Cut Out Railroad Passes for Families Under New Law
Pennsylvania rail employees lose free passes for family members when the public utilities law takes effect January 1 1914. Passes may be issued only to officers and employees with discounts possible for them. Violations incur a 500 dollar fine and enforcement was previously unused.

Geo Hansen an Hastings Express driver injured while unloading at 715 120th street on Sept 5. A box fell during unloading, breaking both bones in his right leg. He was taken by police ambulance to Pullman hospital and is improving rapidly.
