Legion Auxiliary Unit 303 schedule and notices

Pall Gall Unit 303 meets tonight at 8 with Margaret Meginnis presiding. Junior Auxiliary gathers Saturday at 1 30 with Faith Petraske presiding. Joint installation Sept 25 at 8 in Dalton village hall. Members attending Department convention omitted. donations and merchandise sales proceed to veterans. Sympathies extended for Haney and Gall families. Members travel to Hot Springs Rock Island and Lake Noquebay for rest and reunions with return dates in September.

Two Auto Mishaps Reported in Riverdale Area

Fred Gall 44 of 421 East 112th Street Chicago was charged with reckless driving after his car in the outer south lane on Halsted near 139th collided with four cars coming north. Edw Rippe 49 of Harvey was involved. both vehicles damaged and towed to Hastings Garage Dalton. Palmer Johnson 315 West 150th Street Chicago hit a car driven by John White 13909 Park Ave Dolton on Indiana Avenue 138th Street. White’s car struck a large truck. Johnson’s car damaged on the left front. Betty Fisher 17 and sister Shirley 14 of Dolton sustained injuries when their car rear-ended a bus on Main Street near Indiana Avenue. driver Calvin Post 17 of Chicago attempted to stop but brakes failed. both girls treated at Roseland Community Hospital. Paul Koppers six, son of Mr and Mrs Louis Koppers 14069 Lincoln Ave treated for shock after being struck by a truck while crossing Lincoln Ave on a tricycle at Main Street.
