Dolton Board Debates Street Repairs and Water Upgrades

The Dolton village board discussed street cracks from unfinished sewer work and a petition to remove clay on Park Avenue sidewalks. Committees were empowered to act on culvert construction and water mains extension while awaiting contract terms and bids. A new fire whistle and improved apparatus were considered, with patrols to enforce whistling nuisance and school crossing gates under review.

Remains Laid to Rest in German Lutheran Church

The funeral of Albert Schultz was held last Saturday afternoon from St. Paul's German Lutheran Church with Rev. H. Wind officiating. Money flowers came from sorrowing relatives and friends and from the Car Repairers Union, of which he was a member. Pallbearers included Simon Schoon, Henry Bockelman, August Radke, Henry Urich, August Manski, and William Wichmann. Out-of-town attendees were Wm. Keehn, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Lemke, George Lemke, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Keehn, Alfred and Hugo Keehn, Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Keehn of North Judson Indiana, Johno Keehn of San Piero Indiana, and Miss Emma Dominer of Denham Indiana.

Boy’s accident leads to finger amputation near Riverdale

Irving Hoffman, seven, son of Mr and Mrs Chas Loffman of Riverdale, was injured Thursday afternoon while hitching a ride on a Lumber Company stone wagon on 136th Place. His hand was crushed in a dumping chain requiring amputation of a finger.
