Permanent voter registrations to begin in South Cook County
County Clerk Michael J. Flynn announced permanent voter registrations will start in Dalton Riverdale and South Holland for the 1st time on September 27 with two fall registration days Sept 27 and Oct 5. The system splits cards among the clerk offices and enables village or city clerks to hold local elections independently, reducing lengthy ballots and sidestepping misregistration. Women citizens by marriage must provide marriage dates and court details under new rules. More than 80 villages and 28 townships will fall under permanent registration with Cicero Berwyn and Harvey among suburbs not covered.
