Girls Athletic Association Organizes At Junior High
The first meeting took place Tuesday afternoon October 18 in room 210. Alex Kala was elected president and Ann Verhoeven secretary. The new Girls' Athletic Association ties to the physical education program and invites junior high girls to join. Letters require 1000 points. 500 points earns a small sweater emblem. Activities earn two points per hour in baseball basketball volleyball captain ball hockey ice-skating roller skating walking tennis folk dancing bowling. Horseshoes and two 21 point games count for two points. Five mile hikes with a chaperone earn ten points each, up to five hikes per year. A health crusade with an average ninety points per week for twelve weeks yields 25 points.
