Dolton Board Chooses Water Line Extension Plan
Dolton village board reviewed two water line projects for New Chicago residents. Engineer Ben Suhr recommended connecting to the C and EI railroad main on Indiana avenue for a permanent upgrade at about $4,598.69, with financing via the water fund and user charges. The cheaper Riverdale main option would be temporary and later need replacement, the board preferred the Indiana avenue extension to spur area development. Finance and water committees to meet to resolve funding. A separate legal opinion finds Fred Ehlert back salary claim is not legal since he served as regular policeman during that period.
