Engineers from the Sanitary District survey the route from Pullman to Kensington for a five million dollar intercepting sewer. It will serve as an auxiliary to the Calumet Sag canal, intercept all south of 95th street sewer systems, and run parallel to the canal’s north bank, discharging west of Fay's Point at the controlling works.

Dolton Village approves 1914 15 anticipatory tax warrants
The village president and clerk are authorized to issue anticipatory warrants up to 75 percent of the total 1914 1915 tax levy to meet expenses. Interest coupons may be attached at up to 5 percent with payment from the taxes levied. Warrants require prior appropriation and acknowledgment of salaries. The clerk must certify warrant details to banks and maintain a register. The ordinance is dated November 16 1914 and approved by President Chas Dickielman.

Unemployed in Calumet Get Aid From Local Union
In Calumet district unemployed workers received aid from employed union men led by Joseph Byrnes of the South Chicago Trades and Labor Association. The group donated $1.60 to each unemployed man and used assessments on workers to fund ongoing relief. The association also opened its club rooms and dispatched notices and calls for job placements. Byrnes said comfortable quarters would be provided and weekly assessments would continue for those seeking work.
