Illinois Central Buys Land for Extensions at 99th and South Park
The Illinois Central railroad purchased 16.27 acres from the Pullman Land Association at the southeast corner of 99th Street extended and South Park Avenue for 35000 dollars. The site adjoins the Burnside shops and is expected to support future expansions. The company also acquired land from Edward A Shedd east of the Calumet river at Wildwood near its yards for nominal consideration.

New Car Line Extends Along 119th Street Area
The extension of the street car line on 119th street began Monday with a large crew and multiple teams. It runs from Halsted to Vincennes Avenue and links with Harvey and Chicago Heights, with intervening points.
