Members of the Eighth District American Legion Auxiliary will meet June 10 at Evergreen Park Legion Hall 3231 W 98th St Evergreen Park at 3 p.m. Officers for the coming year are to be elected with nominees including Mrs James Stoeff Lansing District Director and Mrs Edward Wagner Matteson Alternate Director. Northern Illinois Gas proposes rate changes in Illinois
Northern Illinois Gas Company files on May 12 1959 with the Illinois Commerce Commission a plan raising the minimum monthly charge to 1.00 for general residential Rate 1 and Rate 4 customers using little gas and cutting current 0.70 minimum. It also proposes a general rate reduction for the Bloomington District. Further information is available from the company or the ICC secretary in Springfield Illinois. Appoint Local Chairmen For Doughnut Day
Mrs. Edward Albrecht and Mrs. Gustave Stenberg are named local chairmen for Dolton Riverdale Ivanhoe for the Salvation Army Doughnut Day drive on June 12 in Chicago and suburbs. Volunteers are urged to give two to three hours to sell paper doughnut tags and contact the chairmen for details. Twenty percent of funds stay local to support area services and emergencies, while eighty percent aid the broader Chicago welfare program.

Philip Thomsen, son of Dalton residents, received the Distinctive Rifle Team Award at Rypon College Armed Forces Day ceremonies, earning the 370 ribbon as a sophomore pre medical student.
