Dolton Regional Hospital Assn Charter Granted
The Dolton Civic Association led by Harold L Brown has secured a state charter for a nonprofit Dolton Regional Hospital Association to pursue locating a hospital in the Riverdale Dolton South Holland area. Dr J Iwanetz Milan Herzog and Harald Brown signed the application with Summersfield and Summersfield handling legal work. The group plans an organizational meeting to elect officers trustees and an advisory board with local business leaders ministers and professionals ready to help. A site near Sibley Blvd and Greenwood Rd is favored to serve nearby towns though no site is finalized and Riverdale officials say land is scarce.

Dolton Permit Application May Be Withdrawn
Dolton President Frederick L. Kasten says the permit application to operate a refuse disposal site at 1Mth street and the Calumet Expressway will be officially withdrawn at the June 27 hearing. He credits Alderman Lupo of Chicago for blocking the request and thanks citizens for their support.

Rev George E Shea founder of Queen of Apostles Church in Riverdale died suddenly May 21 1963. He served as Navy chaplain in World War II and was pastor of Queen of Apostles since 1953. Burial in All Saints cemetery Des Plaines. He is survived by three brothers and cousins.

Local Units To March In Parade For Memorial Day
The Dalton and Riverdale Memorial Day parade and Oakland Cemetery services honor veterans of all wars on Thursday May 30 sponsored by Paul Gall Post 303 American Legion. Parade starts 1 30 p m with assembly at 1 00 between 137th and 138th streets and Wabash Ave Riverdale. The route goes east on 137th to Leyden Ave to Lincoln Ave to the cemetery where a firing squad and veterans representatives will salute the graves.
