Dolton Board Agrees Bills and Checks at April Meeting
The Dolton Board met in regular session at Village Hall on Monday evening April 29 with all members present except Dickelman. The clerk read minutes from several special meetings. corrections were approved. Trustee Harter presented bills including village officers salaries totaling nearly $4,000, which were approved and vouchers ordered drawn. The Finance Committee found Treasurer and Collector books correct to the cent. Meeting minutes and reports were read and approved. A Fidelity and Deposit Co. check for $801.65 to cover a shortage in ex Clerk Hahn’s accounts was read and deposited with the treasurer. Street and Alleys work included removing surplus earth and opening catch basins. The telephone company was allowed to use a village pole on Park avenue to install a cross arm. Light expenditures involved George A. Dalton contesting a charged light bill. the board planned to address it later along with other items. Bonds and applications for saloon licenses for Henry Gundaker and Robert Starkman were read. Stunczk moved to table approval of the bonds until the next board meeting and to pay drum shop license fees by May 1. Carl Wulff received a plum bers license. Attorney Verhoeven reported a sewer-material suit against the village has begun and he will represent the village.
